Lech am Arlberg: famous in winter, just as beautiful in summer

Discover the summer side of Lech am Arlberg

Lech am Arlberg lies at 1,444 meters in the Austrian Alps and is well known as one of Europe’s top winter sports destinations. What many people don’t realize is that the region also offers a wonderful summer experience.

When the snow melts, stunning hiking paths and mountain bike trails appear, winding past alpine meadows and crystal-clear water. Summer temperatures around Lech average a pleasant 20°C, perfect for outdoor sports or relaxing in the fresh mountain air. From July onwards, Arlberg Alpin organizes a summer program led by certified local guides. Activities range from easy walks through the village and surrounding hills to more challenging tours for experienced hikers and climbers.

Our friend Walter recently took a walk through the village center and shared some photos of the lush green landscape and traditional alpine architecture that gives the village its unique character. It is a different side of Lech am Arlberg – one that is well worth exploring.
